The Real Luxury Lies in the Handmade

There's something undeniable about handmade touches—they bring a unique soul to any project. In a world where everything is digital, streamlined, and often indistinguishable, true luxury isn't just about using another trendy serif font. It's about craftsmanship, about embracing imperfections, about creating something that feels personal and real.

AI is the future, and I won’t deny its power. I love experimenting with it, integrating it where it makes sense, and pushing creative boundaries. But when every brand starts looking the same, following the same social media trends and design formulas, handmade details become more than just a stylistic choice—they become a statement.

That’s why working on this brief from The Brief Club for the flower brand Genevieve Vaughn was such an exciting opportunity. It was a chance to showcase what craft and handmade elements can truly bring to a brand. Inspired by the Alps (a nod to the name's Germanic roots), the brand needed an identity that felt classic yet distinct, evoking a sense of nostalgia without falling into modern minimalism.

To achieve this, I incorporated vintage botanical illustrations, pulling directly from their original printed sources. This approach not only honored the natural beauty of the flowers but also added an element of authenticity—something that AI-generated images or stock vectors simply can’t replicate.

The result? A brand that feels rich, timeless, and rooted in something deeper than just aesthetics. Because in a world of mass production and digital sameness, true luxury is found in the details, in the craftsmanship, and in the human touch behind the design.
